1. WARRANTY

1.1 The Breeder warrants that the Dog is sold as a United Kingdom Kennel Club (“UKKC”) registered West Highland White Terrier. Registration documentation will be provided at no additional cost.

1.2 To the best of the Breeder’s knowledge at the time of sale, the Dog is in good health, free from parasites, and of sound temperament unless otherwise disclosed and recorded on the Puppy’s Health Certificate.

2. VETERINARY EXAMINATION

2.1 The Dog has received a basic veterinary examination at the time of its first vaccination.

2.2 The Purchaser shall arrange, at their own expense, a veterinary examination shortly after collection.

2.3 A full refund guarantee is offered until the Dog reaches twelve (12) weeks of age, subject to a supporting veterinary report.

2.4 The guarantee covers congenital conditions only and excludes behavioural issues, illness, or injury occurring while in the Purchaser’s care.

2.5 The Breeder is not responsible for any veterinary fees, costs, or distress incurred.

2.6 The Purchaser is strongly advised to maintain the insurance activated by the Breeder.

3. INTENDED USE

3.1 The Dog is sold primarily as a companion animal.

3.2 Where sold with potential for breeding, the Breeder confirms the Dog is free from visible defects likely to impair breeding suitability at the time of sale. No guarantee is made regarding future suitability, and no refund or replacement will be offered if the Dog matures unsuitable for breeding.

4. NEUTERING AND SPAYING

4.1 Due to risks associated with early neutering, the Purchaser agrees not to spay or neuter the Dog before twelve (12) months of age unless medically necessary for non‑behavioural reasons.

5. DIET

5.1 The Dog has been reared on a specially formulated diet. The Purchaser agrees to continue this diet for at least six (6) weeks after collection.

5.2 Any dietary changes must be gradual and consist of a high‑quality, breed‑appropriate diet.

6. BREED HEALTH

6.1 The West Highland White Terrier is generally healthy, though certain conditions occur more frequently within the breed.

6.2 DNA testing is conducted through Laboklin or Wisdom Panel. At least one parent will be CMO‑0.

6.3 Conditions not testable include dietary sensitivities, skin disorders, epilepsy, and autoimmune conditions. The Breeder does not breed from clinically affected dogs and maintains inbreeding coefficients below 12%.

6.4 The Purchaser accepts that the Dog may develop a health condition at any point in its life.

6.5 The Breeder is not liable for any financial loss or distress arising from future ill health.

6.6 Comprehensive pet insurance is strongly recommended.

6.7 The Purchaser agrees to notify the Breeder of any hereditary condition diagnosed by a veterinarian.

7. BREEDING RESTRICTIONS

7.1 The Dog is sold with a “Progeny Not Eligible for Registration” endorsement (“R”).

7.2 The Breeder may consider removing the endorsement once the Dog is over eighteen (18) months old, in good health, and of sound temperament.

7.3 Dogs intended for breeding are sold at the overall cost of £3,000.00. If the Purchaser later wishes to breed, the price difference between pet purchase cost and breeding cost becomes payable upon endorsement removal.

7.4 The Breeder does not guarantee approval for breeding and is not liable for any loss arising from refusal.

7.5 If the Dog or Bitch is bred without written consent the proceeds derived from puppy sales, stud fees, or any breeding‑related income obtained in breach of this Agreement shall be deemed the sole property of the Breeder. The Purchaser agrees to remit such proceeds immediately upon request.

8. REHOMING

8.1 The Purchaser agrees not to sell, gift, loan, or transfer the Dog without notifying the Breeder.

8.2 If rehoming becomes necessary, the Purchaser shall contact the Breeder for assistance.

8.3 Purchasers of Dogs under six (6) months must familiarise themselves with Lucy’s Law (May 2019).

8.4 The Breeder will accept Dogs under six (6) months for rehoming to ensure compliance.

8.5 No refund will be provided if the Dog is returned or rehomed, and all ownership rights must be surrendered.

8.6 The Breeder’s priority is the Dog’s welfare, not the Purchaser’s financial recovery.
