Warranty- The breeder warrants that this dog is sold as a UK Kennel Club Registered West Highland White Terrier and registration papers with the UK Kennel club will be provided to the purchaser at no additional cost.
To the best of their knowledge at the time of sale the dog is in good health, free of parasites and of sound temperament, unless previously discussed with the purchaser and detailed on your puppiers health certificate.
Vet Check- Your puppy has received a basic veterinary examination at the time of their first vaccination.
The purchaser should also have the dog checked by a veterinarian of his/her choice at his/her expense soon after collection.
We offer a full refund guarantee subject to veterinary report until your puppy is aged 12 weeks of age.
The refund guarantee covers pre-existing congenital conditions it excludes behavioural issues, illness and injuries whilst in your care.
The seller will not be responsible for any vet fees, costs or distress incurred.
The Buyer is recommended to continue the free insurance activated by the seller to ensure continued cover in the event of Illness or accident.
Desired use- Our dogs are sold primarily as companions.
Puppies sold for addtional prospective breeding activities are free from any visible defects likely to be detrimental to this at the time of sale, however as no one can predict exactly how any given dog will mature both structurally and in temperament the breeder cannot guarantee that the dog will mature as suitable for these activities and will not offer any form of refund or replacement should the dog mature to be unsuitable.
Castration and spaying- Due to the documented negative effect of the Westies ability to mature structurally the purchaser agrees not to spay or neuter their dog prior to them obtaining 12 months of age unless deemed necessary by a veterinary surgeon for health reasons excluding potential behavioural modification.
Diet - Your puppy has been reared on a specially formulated diet; the purchaser agrees they will continue with this diet for the minimum of four weeks after homing to avoid digestive upset during the settling in period. After this period any changes made should be to a high-quality breed appropriate diet and should be made gradually.
Breed Health – The Westie is a generally healthy breed however as with any breed of dog there are some health conditions that have been observed to be more common within the breed.
Our dogs are DNA tested using Laboklin or Wisdom panel at least 1 parent will be CMO-0
Conditions we cannot test for are things such as but not limited to dietary or skin conditions Epilepsy and autoimmune conditions, we do not breed from dogs that have been physically affected with any of these conditions and we keep inbreeding coefficients well below 12% to minimise risk, but we can never guarantee that a pairing will not produce an affected offspring.
By purchasing a WHW you accept that there is a risk your dog could be affected by a health condition of some type at some point in their life.
The breeder will not be responsible for any financial loss or distress incurred by the purchaser due to the future ill health of the dog.
You are strongly advised to avail yourselves of appropriate insurance to cover unexpected veterinary costs through accident or illness.
We request that if your dog suffers an illness which is deemed by to be hereditary by your veterinary surgeon that you inform us to enable us to make more informed breeding decisions.
Breeding- This Dog/Bitch is sold with a progeny not for registration endorsement R placed on his or her kennel club registration.
If this dog was sold for potential breeding, the seller will consider an application to remove the breeding endorsement from the dogs Kennel Club registration provided the dog is in good health and of sound temperament.
The seller does not guarantee any dog will be approved for breeding and will not be responsible for any loss or distress incurred by the decision to not remove the breeding endorsement from the Kennel Club registration.
Rehoming - The purchaser agrees not to sell, gift or loan the dog to any third party without informing the breeder, if it becomes necessary to find a new home for the dog, the purchaser should first contact the breeder for assistance.
Owners of puppies aged under 6 months who wish to rehome should familiarise themselves with Lucy’s law May 2019 and see if it is applicable to them.
The seller will take back for rehoming puppies aged under 6 months of age to enable compliance.
In cases where the breeder takes in the dog back for rehoming or assists the purchasers in finding a new home for their dog the breeder will not refund the purchaser price and current registered owners are required to surrender all rights of ownership
The breeders priority is always to find the correct home for the puppy/dog not enabling the current owners to recoup expenditure.
