Meet the Team – Katy

At Gunfield, our dogs have always been at the heart of everything we do, and no one is more passionate about their welfare than Katy.

Katy has been breeding Hungarian Vizslas since 1999 and West Highland White Terriers since 2015, dedicating over 25 years to producing healthy, well-socialised puppies with exceptional temperaments. Throughout that time, she has combined hands-on experience with continual professional education, ensuring that every dog receives the highest standard of care from birth through to adulthood.

Katy believes responsible breeding is about far more than producing puppies. It is about protecting the future of the breed through careful health testing, understanding genetics, promoting excellent welfare, and providing lifelong support to every family who welcomes a Gunfield puppy into their home.

Experience You Can Trust

More than two decades of breeding have taught Katy that producing outstanding puppies starts long before a mating ever takes place. Every breeding decision is carefully considered, with health, temperament, genetics and breed type all playing an important role.

Her knowledge extends far beyond breeding itself. Through her qualifications and experience, Katy is able to offer advice on puppy development, canine behaviour, nutrition, breeding, genetics, pregnancy, whelping and lifelong health.

Supporting Owners for Life

Every Gunfield puppy comes with ongoing breeder support. Katy is committed to helping owners throughout their dog’s life, whether they need advice on settling in a new puppy, training, nutrition, behaviour, health, or simply reassurance when they need it most.

This commitment to aftercare has resulted in many families returning to Gunfield for another puppy and recommending Gunfield to friends and family.

A Lifelong Commitment to Learning

The canine world is continually evolving, and Katy believes education should never stop. Alongside over 25 years of practical breeding experience with Hungarian Vizslas and over a decade breeding West Highland White Terriers, she continues to build upon her knowledge through recognised qualifications, professional development and Kennel Club educational programmes.

By combining experience with evidence-based learning, Katy ensures every Gunfield puppy is bred responsibly, raised carefully and given the very best start in life.

At Gunfield, breeding is not simply a profession—it is a lifelong passion built on knowledge, integrity, compassion and an unwavering commitment to the health and welfare of every dog
