The Waiting List
What is it and how does it work?
About the List
Every good breeder has a waiting list for their puppies.
This is done to ensure they do not bring into the world puppies that do not have suitable homes waiting for them.
We are no different we have a waiting list for both the Hungarian Vizslas and the West Highland White Terriers the length of the waiting list will vary and waiting times are always approximate.
In order to have a puppy from us you will need to be on our waiting list we never have puppies available for those outside our list.
The length of the waiting list is dictated by the breed and the dog's previous breeding history if available, for example if a female produced a substantially large litter we may take more names on a list than for one who has only produced a few puppies.
We try to keep the genders that people want on a litter proportionate to avoid disappointment.
What we cannot control however is Mother Nature no matter how efficiently we try and run a waiting list if a female fails to conceive or has a small litter of just one gender potential owners can be disappointed.
We all always keep a handful of spaces on our waiting list to juggle people around but to be on our waiting list you do need to be prepared to wait to have a puppy If you have a sctrict time scale/agenda then we are not to the breeder for you.
Average wait times are around 12 months for Hungarian Vizslas and around 10 months for West Highland White terriers these however are average wait times and can be higher and lower depending on the litter plans that we have.
How do you get on a list?
In order to join our waiting list we must have spoken to you or met you in person and approved you to join our waiting list you will then be required to pay a joining fee and an online reservation form.
How will i know where I am on the waiting list ?
When you join the list you will be given a position based on the gender you selected and the date you joined and the litters suitability for you.
Please bear in mind some people may have joined the list before you and selected a gender preference but indicated they will be happy to own either gender for example-
Ben ♂️♀️ - first in line for a dog or bitch
shirley ♂️ - second in line for a dog first if Ben takes a bitch
joyce ♀️ - second in line for a bitch or first if Ben takes a dog.
To complicate things further there are occasions where it may not be appropriate to place a particular puppy with an owner for example there is a single puppy of a gender whose potential owner wishes to show or breed and the puppy possesses a miss mark or something that is likely to be detrimental to that.
There is a single puppy of agenda that is going into a very complex family and may not mature to have the correct temperaments for that.
All of these things a contributary factors
What Happens if i dont get a Puppy or there is no pregnancy ?
Your will be offered the option to join a later waiting list as high up as we can put you without bumping anyone else off
You will also be offered any additional puppies born
You always have the right to leave the list and have any joing fee paid returned.
We always reserve the right to remove you from a waiting list if we do not feel we can supply you with a puppy for any reason.
How far ahead can I join a list?
We normally have litter plans up to 18 months ahead However sometimes people who have had a previous puppy who wish to have another one in a couple of years time can join a mailing list so we will notify them when the waiting lists are open.
How can I get moved up the waiting list?
The simple answer to this is by waiting your turn it will come and it will be worth it!
I shouldnt have to say it but sadly we do get asked
We do not accept finiacial bribes s to give people a higher place on the list and nor do we respond to emotional blackmail.
Every owner has a back story as to why they want a puppy many have lost companions or gone through great hardship while distressing this doesnt give you priority over others,
If you ask your more likely to be removed all together.
Utimatley we will always have the final say in which puppies go where there welfare is placed over any list,
